London - July 24, 2013 - London Knights General Manager Mark Hunter announced today that the organization has partnered with Total Package Hockey (TPH) and the Blyth Academy London to launch the London Knights Hockey Academy Powered by TPH. This unique blend of academics and hockey athletics will offer grades 6-12 a chance to develop their hockey skills while going to school in a very specialized environment.

Students will take part in off-ice training sessions powered by TPH, on-ice curriculum jointly overseen by the London Knights coaching staff and TPH, video sessions put on by the London Knights coaching staff as well as personalized, focused academics taught by Blyth Academy London. TPH has successfully been operating under the PEAC brand for the past 3 years. Blyth Academy London will now oversee all academic learning for all grades 6-12 with grades 6-8 operating out of the Western Fair and grades 9-12 operating out of Ignatia Hall at the Mount.

All current London Knights players will be attending Blyth Academy for their education and hockey development.

"We're excited for this new chapter in the London Knights organization. This opportunity will allow our players to focus on their schooling while developing their hockey skills both on and off the ice," says Hunter. "The balanced schedule will allow our players to develop to their fullest potential. This also will give us a great opportunity to give back to the community and contribute to the success of our up and coming local talent."

"TPH is excited for this new partnership," says Dwayne Blais, Director of Hockey Operations, TPH Canada. "It will be great to have the support of some local hockey expertise in the London Knights coaching staff as well as a tremendous learning opportunity for our local hockey players."

"Blyth is thrilled to be partnering with the London Knights," says Cameron Harvey, Vice President Admissions and Recruitment, Blyth Education. "Our flexible daily schedules, small classes, and personalized learning environment will help Knights" players reach their academic potential and be prepared for the challenges of life both on and off the ice. Our faculty look forward to working closely with Knights" staff to effectively accommodate the team's demanding training and travel needs."
